OCEA HUB Presenting Tuko in Shanghai π¨π³
During our time in Shanghai we were invited to present Tuko at OCEA Hub, a startup and innovation space that hosts events for founders and the local tech community.
Presenting in a different ecosystem
What made the experience especially interesting was the audience. The room was almost entirely filled with Chinese founders, entrepreneurs and professionals, and we were among the very few international participants invited to present.
Together with Walled, a friend of mine who was also presenting his project, we represented the international side of the event while most of the startups and attendees were part of the local Chinese ecosystem.
Standing on stage and explaining our project in that context was a unique moment. It forced us to communicate the idea clearly and simply to people coming from a completely different market and culture.
Sharing the vision of Tuko
During the presentation we explained the core idea behind Tuko: the future of shopping is collective.
Instead of people buying alone, Tuko allows consumers to coordinate purchases and unlock better prices together, while brands can increase sales without relying heavily on advertising.
A memorable experience
Presenting in front of an almost entirely Chinese audience was a great experience and a reminder of how global the startup world really is. Moments like this make the journey even more exciting as we continue building Tuko.
